The 3rd Annual Spring Green Festival is all set for Saturday, March 16th. As a place where families can come out to play games, have some great food, enjoy musical entertainment, explore local businesses, and otherwise spend the day getting to know your neighbors, we certainly look forward to this year's event. This festival has grown over the last 3 years and this year is the best yet with targeted areas including a Man Zone and Kid's Corner, a car and motorcycle show sponsored by Wild Bill's, a Battle of the Bands contest sponsored by Chantelar Studios, a 5k Road Race sponsored by Chick-Fil-A, a Bed Race sponsored by Family Promise of Gwinnett, a car giveaway by Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, and a silent auction sponsored by The Georgia Aquarium.

The festival has always been about spreading community: providing an exciting event for residents and tourists, bringing business to Lawrenceville by the businesses of Lawrenceville, and raising money for local charities. This year, instead of raising money for multiple charities, they developed an exciting new contest of where festival participants could nominate their favorite charity that would be selected to receive all the contributions from the festival this year. On March 4, they announced the Top 5 Charities that have been selected out of the many that were nominated. Each of these charities have been awarded a booth at the festival where they can meet with the public and spread the news of their cause. The Top 5 include: The Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett, a school specializing in providing the highest quality eduction and therapeutic programs available to children with and without disabilities, Central Gwinnett Cluster Foundation, an organization that enhances and extends the academic initiatives of Gwinnett County schools, Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, a foundation that helps Gwinnett Medical Center provide the best healthcare possible to our community, Family Promise Gwinnett, an organization that partners with social services to help end homelessness in our county, and The Huffman House, a provider of food and non-perishable items to others. After the festival on March 16th, one of these charities will be selected to receive the whole of Spring Green Festival's charitable contributions this year.

Unlike many St. Patrick's Day oriented festivals, Spring Green is a family friendly and promoted by Lawrenceville business directly. New Lawrenceville, a local business networking group, founded the festival in 2010 as a way to bring business to Lawrenceville while also raising money for local charities. With the festival doubling in size every year, they hired Reformation Productions, a local marketing agency that specializes in helping local and regional businesses (or in Spring Green's case, events) grow to the next level, to help them with organizing and marketing the festival. The result is a larger festival featuring targeted areas where people of all walks and backgrounds can come together for a day of fun and excitement as Lawrenceville celebrates the coming of Spring. Rodney Camren of Keller Williams Realty Intown Atlanta & Star Team Atlanta Realty and Vanessa Churco of Atlanta Flooring & Designs have always headed the festival's board for New Lawrenceville. In addition to Zachary and Rachel Bennett of Reformation Productions, they have also added Sara Poe of Poe's Accounting Services to be the festival’s treasurer, Doug Adams of Adams Financial Management to coordinate the all volunteer staff, and Carolyn Stewart of CS Baskets to help with administrative duties.
